Bobbi Bear

Bobbi Bear

Pattern by: Bobbi IntVeld

Found: Blue Sky Alpacas

Yarn: (Made from Kit) Blue Sky Bulky in Brown

Needle: (Not sure, pattern calls for size US17, but I think I actually used US15)

Gauge: (Didn’t measure)

Bobbi bear was my first stuffed toy that I made - he’s really easy, very little sewing, and fun to make. This was a present for my cousin’s boy.

My cat Chiquita fell in love with Bobbi before he went away. I’m guessing because he is made of something that came from a live animal.

Hi there, My name is Faye and I live in Australia. I love your Bears, congratulations. I have purchased both Bobbi Bear and Baby Bobbi Bear patterns, and getting nowhere fast.

Firstly the needle sizes have thrown me off and when I try to work out what “ply” wool to use, my head spins. I converted the needle sizes, will have to send to US for 12 mm Double pointed needles though, I’m working on that one.

Everyone I have tried to talk to about this pattern say the same as me, “it doesn’t make sense.” Even if I used 12 or 14 ply wool as we know it here in Australia, it would not knit up in close weave as the picture indicates. I have never actually seen or touched Blue sky yarn, not even sure I’d like it, no one can/will send me samples. Can’t afford to buy it from US anyway, however a sample would give me a comparision.

Any assistance you could give me would be greatly appreciated in regards to the wool PLY required in ratio to the needles required.

    Many thanks

    Faye
